South Africa beat Morocco to reach the quarter-finals of the 2023 African Cup

South Africa scored both goals in the second half

In the 1/8 finals of the 2023 African Cup, the team South Africa beat Morocco with a score of 2:0.

In the first half, the Moroccans managed to open the scoring, but the goal was canceled after a VAR tip. And in the second half of the meeting, an accurate shot from Evidence Makgope brought the South African team ahead. At the end of the meeting, the Moroccans remained in the minority after Sofyan Amrabat was sent off, and South Africa scored the second goal through the efforts of Teboho Mokoena.

In the quarterfinals of the tournament, the South African team will play against the Cape Verde team. The meeting will take place on February 3 at 22:00 Kyiv time.

Earlier, the Mali national team beat Burkina Faso (2:1) in a match with an own goal and a penalty in the 1/8 finals of the 2023 African Cup. Thus, all pairs of participants in the 1/4 finals of the tournament were formed.
