‘Genius’ Conor McGregor hijacks Sydney Sweeney’s post to promote Road House

Fans have labelled Conor McGregor a ‘marketing genius’ as he continues to promote his soon-to-be-released movie debut.

The UFC superstar, who hasn’t fought since July 2021, decided to use his lengthy layoff to his advantage by booking an acting gig and becoming the ‘highest-paid’ first-time actor of all time.

Notorious’ has earned rave reviews for his performance as hired mercenary Knox in a Road House remake, which will be available to stream on Prime Video from March 21.

McGregor has been partaking in premieres, press junkets, and doing all the typical things actors do to promote their upcoming movies in the weeks before release date.

However, he’s also been doing his own thing to sell Road House on social media.

The 35-year-old has been posting stills from the movie, behind-the-scenes footage, and even sharing videos of him showing off his acting skills for months.

Now, he’s seemingly tried to start a rivalry with Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney, who is currently promoting a film she has coming out the day after McGregor’s.

The 26-year-old, who has shot to stardom thanks to her roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You, recently attended a premiere for a horror film called Immaculate.

“IMMACULATE March 22nd,” Sweeney captioned her most recent Instagram post which has earned 1.1 million likes in less than 24 hours.

Bizarrely, McGregor took to Sweeney’s comment section to promote his movie and try to start some type of beef between him and the American actress.

“Road House March 21st,” he wrote to earn himself the top comment on Sweeney’s viral post.

Many fans were shocked and confused by McGregor’s reply, but others hailed him as a marketing genius for using Sweeney’s star power to promote his movie.

Despite being touted as the next Arnold Schwarzenegger, McGregor wants to leave showbusiness behind and return to fighting as soon as possible.

A comeback bout against Michael Chandler has been booked for over a year, but UFC CEO Dana White is yet to announce a date for ‘Mystic Mac’s’ return from injury.
