Peseiro’s AFCON masterclass
The Portuguese tactician earned his place on the list thanks to his masterful coaching that helped the Super Eagles of Nigeria win a silver medal at the AFCON tournament earlier in the year.
Despite a scarcity of quality personnel in that department, Peseiro drilled defensive solidity into a top-heavy Nigerian team and led them to moments away from their first Cup of Nations title since 2013.
He has since left the role after his contract expired mid-year. Since his exit, the Nigeria Football Federation has struggled to cement a permanent replacement.
