BTS Singer Jin Finds His Way Back To The Billboard Charts

Billboard’s global charts are flush with returning favorites this week, as dozens of popular singles from musicians working in every genre find their way back to the tallies. Last frame, the lists were largely owned by Christmas cuts, but now most of those tunes have disappeared entirely, and the ones that have managed to hold on likely only have a few days left in the spotlight before they slip away as well.

One musician who benefits from this change in the seasons is Jin. The BTS star brings one of his most recent releases on his own back to both of Billboard’s worldwide rankings, as people all around the planet continue to stream and buy the song in large numbers again.

“Running Wild” appears highest on the Billboard Global Excl. US, which makes sense, as it’s the worldwide tally that doesn’t include consumption from America. Jin is hugely popular in the States, but his fame is greater in other parts of the world, especially in his home nation of South Korea.

On this week’s Billboard Global Excl. US, “Running Wild” improves from No. 130 to No. 85, re-entering the upper half of the roster. It doesn’t need to return to the tally at all, as Jin’s single was performing well enough last time around to find space on the list, even amid all the holiday competition.

“Running Wild” is back on the Billboard Global 200 as well this week. On that list, Jin’s smash does break back in, appearing at No. 172, joining dozens of other cuts in a forward surge, and onto a list they’ve already spent time on in the past.

Between the two rankings, “Running Wild” has performed best on the Billboard Global Excl. US. On that roster, Jin’s song has now racked up seven stays, and it’s peaked at No. 4. The tune is only behind by one frame on the Billboard Global 200, where it’s risen as high as No. 5.

“Running Wild” already ranks as Jin’s biggest and longest-running hit on both of those planet-wide rosters. The BTS talent has accrued just a pair of top 10s on the Billboard Global 200, while he’s added one more on the Billboard Global Excl. US.
