Serie A side register interest in Super Eagles’ Ola Aina

A return to Serie A is on the cards for Ola aina as suitors continue to emerge.

Serie A side Roma have reportedly set their sights on Super Eagles’ Ola Aina as they are keen on bolstering their options at fullback.

The 28-year-old has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season; however, his club, Nottingham Forest, risk losing him on a free transfer, as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Aina has been linked with a number of clubs, including Galatasaray and even Premier League champions Manchester City. Roma have now emerged.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, via Romapress.net, the Giallorossi are keen on signing a right back and have been working on Devyne Rensch from Ajax but are unable to reach an agreement with de Godenzonen.

They are now said to have reprioritised their focus to Aina, given his contract situation. Per the report, Roma’s sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, has initiated contact with the players’ camp to discuss a possible move.

However, Forest are keen on keeping the former Torino man and have been in negotiations over a renewal. Still, it is unlikely they will sell him this January should they fail to seal an extension, as Aina is integral to their current success in the Premier League.
