Real Madrid left shocked that 21-year-old target is close to joining Inter Miami

Real Madrid are reportedly shocked that Argentine youth international Federico Redondo is close to joining Inter Miami.

Los Blancos are one of many top European clubs interested in signing Redondo, with Bayern Munich and Liverpool also linked with a move for the 21-year-old midfielder.

However, recent reports have suggested that Inter Miami are now the front-runners for Redondo, with an $8m offer on the table for the Argentinos Juniors youngster.

And according to Defensa Central, Madrid have been left shocked by these developments, with Redondo seemingly set to move to MLS rather than heading straight to Europe.

Indeed, the American top-flight has formed quite the reputation in recent years as a stepping stone division for South American players before heading to the soccer heartland.

And for Redondo, the midfielder looks set to make the same move, with the Argentine closing in on joining Lionel Messi and company at Inter Miami in Florida.

Inter Miami’s reputation has never been higher after last year’s arrival of Messi and this January’s signing of Luis Suarez, with Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba also with the Herons.

And such star power means Inter Miami are in a position where they can attract some top prospects from across the globe, including Argentine youth international Redondo.

Indeed, Inter Miami landing the midfielder would be a statement signing for the Florida franchise, especially with arguably the biggest club in sports in Madrid interested in Redondo.

Winning such a transfer battle sends a message to the rest of the world that Inter Miami are here to stay, and that they now have the pull to attract top youngsters to add to their ranks.
