BOKO HARAM SETS SCHOOL ABLAZE IN FRESH ATTACK
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly set a school on fire during an attack on a community, causing extensive damage to educational facilities and raising fresh concerns about security in the affected area.
According to local sources, the attackers stormed the area and targeted the school, setting parts of the facility ablaze. The fire destroyed classrooms, furniture, learning materials, and other property, although the full extent of the damage is yet to be determined.
Residents said the incident caused panic among community members, with many fleeing to safer locations as the attack unfolded. Security agencies were reportedly alerted and have begun efforts to assess the situation and restore calm.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement on possible casualties or the motive behind the attack. However, the destruction of educational infrastructure has once again highlighted the challenges facing communities affected by insurgency in parts of northern Nigeria.
Community leaders and residents have called on the government and security agencies to strengthen protection around schools and other public institutions to prevent future attacks.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, while efforts are being made to determine the level of damage and provide support for affected students and staff.
