Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has taken an early lead in the state’s governorship election, winning 19 of the 30 Local Government Areas announced so far.

His closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured victories in 11 Local Government Areas.

Adeleke, who contested the election under the Accord Party, is now awaiting the official declaration of the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The results are expected to be formally declared after the completion of the collation process, which is scheduled to continue on Sunday.

The outcome has attracted significant attention as supporters of both leading candidates await INEC’s final announcement.
