Barcelona youngster Jesse Bisiwu has reportedly turned down an approach from the Ghana Football Association to represent the Black Stars at international level.

The 18-year-old, who holds both Ghanaian and Belgian nationality, was reportedly contacted as Ghana sought to convince him to commit his international future to the West African nation. However, reports indicate that Bisiwu has rejected the approach.

The highly rated winger has already represented Belgium at youth level and appears to be continuing his international journey with the country of his birth.

Bisiwu recently joined Barcelona from Belgian side Club Brugge and has been identified as one of the club’s exciting young prospects. Reports say Ghana had explored the possibility of convincing the youngster to switch his international allegiance, but the move has reportedly not succeeded.

The development means Ghana may have to wait longer in their pursuit of another talented dual-nationality player, while Bisiwu continues to focus on his development at Barcelona and with Belgium’s youth national teams.
