The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Benin are seeking to strengthen their economic partnership, with fresh opportunities emerging in logistics, manufacturing and energy.
The development was highlighted at the UAE-Benin Business Roundtable, where discussions focused on expanding investment opportunities and improving trade relations between both countries.
Speaking at the meeting, a UAE representative highlighted the country’s commitment to supporting Benin’s economic growth through its investment community, international business connections and global market reach.
Benin recorded an economic growth rate of 7.5 per cent in 2025, making it one of West Africa’s fastest-growing economies.
The country’s non-oil trade with the UAE also increased by 65 per cent year-on-year in 2025, reaching $2.15 billion.
The partnership is expected to create opportunities for businesses in both countries, particularly in logistics, manufacturing and energy, while helping Beninese exports gain access to additional international markets.
Both countries have encouraged their private sectors to take advantage of the growing relationship by investing early and exploring new areas of cooperation.
The renewed engagement underscores efforts by the UAE to deepen its economic presence in Africa while supporting trade diversification and investment-driven growth across the continent.
