CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) and Dangote Industries Limited have entered into a multi-year global partnership aimed at highlighting African businesses, innovation and industrial development on the international stage.
A major part of the partnership is Dangote’s sponsorship of “Africa Inc.”, a new half-hour programme on CNN International hosted by Nigerian-born journalist Adefemi Akinsanya.
The programme will focus on African companies that are expanding beyond the continent and competing in global markets. It will explore businesses across sectors including technology, manufacturing, hospitality and entertainment, while examining Africa’s growing influence on global commerce, innovation and consumer trends.
“Africa Inc.” is scheduled to premiere on CNN International on August 29, 2026, with four additional episodes planned through the remainder of 2026 and into 2027. Bespoke segments from the programme will also air every two months, supported by digital and social media content.
The partnership extends beyond the television programme. CNN’s in-house branded-content studio, Create, will produce a separate series titled “Africa First.” The series will examine Africa’s drive toward greater energy independence and economic transformation through films, data-driven articles and social media content.
Dangote Industries will be featured as one example of Africa’s industrial transformation, with the campaign highlighting the company’s activities and broader developments across the continent.
The wider campaign will run across CNN International, CNN.com and CNN Arabic, as well as CNN Business platforms on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Selected “Africa First” content will also appear across CNN’s U.S. television and digital platforms.
As part of the agreement, Dangote Industries will additionally sponsor three editions of CNN’s Global Perspectives events over the next 12 months, creating further opportunities to discuss Africa’s economic growth, business environment and global potential.
CNN International Commercial Senior Vice President for Advertising Sales Cathy Ibal said the partnership would help bring stories of African innovation, resilience and leadership to an international audience.
Dangote Industries Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer Anthony Chiejina said the partnership forms part of the conglomerate’s global brand-positioning strategy and will provide an international platform to showcase Dangote’s Vision 2030 economic blueprint and industrialisation agenda.
The new collaboration also builds on a long-standing relationship between CNN and Dangote. The companies have previously worked together on Africa-focused business programming and sponsorship campaigns designed to showcase African companies and economic opportunities to global audiences.
With “Africa Inc.”, the latest partnership seeks to place African businesses and entrepreneurs at the centre of the global economic conversation, highlighting the companies shaping the continent’s future and competing beyond Africa’s borders.
