ADC Fixes April 14 for National Convention, Announces Timetable for Nationwide Congresses

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially fixed April 14 for its national convention as part of a broader process to reorganize and strengthen the party’s leadership structures across the country.

In a statement released on Saturday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, announced the timetable for a series of congresses that will take place at different levels of the party ahead of the convention.

According to the statement, the congresses will begin at the grassroots with polling unit and ward congresses. These will be followed by local government and state congresses before culminating in the national convention scheduled for April 14.

Abdullahi explained that the exercise is in line with the party’s constitution and is aimed at renewing the party’s leadership across all levels while strengthening internal democracy within the organization.

He noted that the congresses will provide an opportunity for party members nationwide to participate in selecting leaders who will guide the party’s activities and prepare it for upcoming political engagements.

The ADC leadership also assured members that the process would be transparent, inclusive, and conducted in accordance with the party’s rules and democratic principles.

Party officials encouraged members across all states to actively participate in the congresses, emphasizing that the exercise is crucial for consolidating the party’s structure and positioning it as a strong political force in Nigeria.

The African Democratic Congress, one of Nigeria’s recognized political parties, has in recent years been working to expand its grassroots presence and build a stronger national structure ahead of future elections.
