Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has survived a shooting attack in Mumbai, India, after gunmen opened fire at his vehicle, injuring his driver and another person.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening, October 18, 2026, as the 36-year-old actor was leaving a football ground in the Juhu area of Mumbai.
According to reports, three men on a motorcycle approached Shroff’s vehicle near Pushpa Narsee Park and fired several rounds at close range before fleeing the scene.
Shroff escaped without sustaining any gunshot wounds, while his driver and another individual were injured in the attack. Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
Reports indicated that the actor was leaving his regular football session when the shooting occurred. Police suspect the attackers may have monitored his movements before carrying out the assault.
Following the incident, Mumbai Police launched an investigation and deployed multiple teams to identify and apprehend those responsible. Investigators are examining CCTV footage, collecting forensic evidence and tracing the suspects’ movements after the shooting.
Three suspects were detained in Rajasthan on October 19 in connection with the incident, according to police reports. Further arrests were also reported as the investigation progressed.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff after the attack and condemned the shooting, assuring the actor that the authorities would take action against those responsible.
Shinde said the government would not tolerate attempts to intimidate people and pledged to strengthen efforts to ensure public safety.
The incident also raised concerns about security within India’s entertainment industry, following previous attacks and threats involving prominent Bollywood figures.
A message circulating on social media reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting on behalf of individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, police had not independently verified the claim or confirmed the gang’s involvement in the attack.
Authorities continued investigating the motive behind the shooting and the identities of those involved.
Shroff, the son of veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, made his acting debut in 2014 with the film Heropanti. He subsequently gained recognition for his performances in action films, including Baaghi and War, as well as his dancing and martial arts skills.
The shooting has renewed calls for stronger security measures for public figures and greater efforts to tackle organised criminal activity in Mumbai.
