Brazil’s Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, arrived in Nigeria alongside his wife, Maria Lúcia Alckmin, and other members of his delegation for the eagerly awaited Second Session of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism (SDM).

The visiting team touched down in the early hours of Tuesday at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where they were welcomed by key Nigerian officials.

Among those present to receive the Brazilian delegation were Ibrahim Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; along with two other federal ministers and various government representatives.

Senator Hadejia, who spoke at the airport reception, described the visit as “a pivotal moment,” especially considering President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He highlighted the significance of enhancing bilateral relations between Nigeria and Brazil.

The Nigerian government had earlier announced its preparedness to host the second edition of the Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue, which is scheduled to take place this week.
