Today, we received the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Representative, Dr. Pavel Ursu, and the team from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), who donated vehicles, equipment, and other essential items to our Colleges of Nursing at Park Lane and Awgu.
The items include buses, generators, computers, smart electronic boards, photocopiers, and various nursing, laboratory, and hostel equipment, all designed to strengthen the training of our healthcare workforce.
We are deeply grateful for this generous gesture and for the words of commendation from WHO, which described Enugu State’s bold and strategic investments in health system development as a model, citing our 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, the Enugu International Hospital under construction, and the digital transformation of health facilities across the state.
This partnership perfectly aligns with our vision to eradicate poverty and grow our economy sevenfold. The foundation of every prosperous society is the wellbeing of its people, and that is why we are investing boldly in health and human capacity.
You have done all the gap analysis and identified where it hurts us most. Your support is therefore timely, coming as we target to train at least 3,000 healthcare professionals annually in Enugu State. These tools will strengthen our training institutions and raise our standards.
We will continue to invest in the wellbeing of our people, building new hostels and classrooms in our Colleges of Nursing, including Oji River campus, and completing two new six-floor hospital blocks at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital to deliver world-class healthcare to Ndi Enugu.
Tomorrow Is Here!
