Former deputy governor dies

A former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and ex-Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Solomon Ewuga is dead.He died on Tuesday after a prolonged illness, according to family sources.He was aged 70.

Until his death, he had played different roles in Nigeria’s political space.

 

He was the senator who represented Nasarawa North in the 7th National Assembly.In December 2023, he moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he became an active member.

 

He served as deputy governor under Abdullahi Adamu.

 

The deceased is survived by his family, political associates and admirers who will remember him for his service and leadership.Speaking to reporters at the State House, Mrs. Tinubu recalled her time as a member of the Senate Committee on Education, noting that the ministry had struggled to complete the library project, which has been stalled since the era of President Shehu Shagari.

 

She said libraries shaped her growing years and expressed disappointment that Nigeria’s National Library has remained unfinished for decades
