From Rainoil to Eterna: Jude Nwaulune Appointed New CEO of Eterna Plc
Rainoil executive Jude Nwaulune has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Eterna Plc, marking a major leadership transition in Nigeria’s downstream energy sector.
The appointment took effect on May 14, 2026, following the resignation of former CEO Olumide Adeosun, who officially stepped down on May 13. Eterna’s board thanked Adeosun for his contributions and leadership during his tenure, while wishing him success in his future endeavours.
Nwaulune served as Managing Director of Rainoil Logistics Services Limited, where he played a key role in logistics operations, petroleum distribution, LPG expansion, and retail growth initiatives across Nigeria.
Eterna described Nwaulune as a seasoned business executive with more than 19 years of experience spanning sales, marketing, logistics, business development, and operations management within the downstream oil and gas industry. The company noted that his expertise in petroleum retail expansion, supply chain optimisation, and operational efficiency made him a strong fit for the role.
Academically, Nwaulune holds a degree in Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University, a postgraduate diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, and both a Master’s degree and PhD in Marketing Communications and Strategic Marketing Management from Babcock University.
He is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.
Industry analysts say his appointment signals Eterna’s intention to strengthen its operational strategy and expand its footprint in Nigeria’s competitive energy market, especially in petroleum distribution and LPG operations.
