NIGERIA ENDS 11-YEAR NIKE PARTNERSHIP, RETURNS TO ADIDAS IN $8.5 MILLION ANNUAL KIT DEAL
Nigeria’s national football teams are set to return to Adidas after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) reached a new kit sponsorship agreement worth $8.5 million annually.

The deal brings an end to Nigeria’s 11-year partnership with Nike, which is expected to expire at the end of 2026. The new Adidas agreement is scheduled to take effect in 2027.
According to former NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Adidas will provide $4.5 million in annual cash payments and another $4 million worth of kits and equipment for Nigeria’s national teams.
The agreement also includes a 20 per cent royalty on official merchandise sales, which could increase the total value of the partnership beyond the guaranteed $8.5 million per year.
Gusau described the new partnership as one of the biggest kit sponsorship agreements in African football, saying it would provide greater financial support and improved equipment supplies for the Super Eagles, Super Falcons and other national teams.
Adidas previously supplied Nigeria before Nike became the country’s official kit manufacturer in 2015. The return to the German sportswear giant marks a new chapter for Nigerian football as the NFF seeks to improve its commercial strength and support for the country’s various national teams.
