Veteran Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo marks her 47th birthday today, December 21, 2024.

Born Alice Iyabo Ogunro in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 21, 1977, Ojo hails from a family of three, with roots in Abeokuta, Ogun State, through her father.

The actress began her marital journey at 21, tying the knot with a Lagos-based clearing agent in 1999.

She briefly paused her career to focus on family life, welcoming her son, Felix Ojo, in 1999, and daughter, Priscilla Ajoke Ojo, in 2001. However, Ojo later divorced, citing youthful inexperience as a factor in the marriage’s dissolution.

Despite her challenges, Iyabo Ojo has built a successful acting career, becoming one of Nollywood’s celebrated figures.

She has also expressed plans to discontinue the use of her former husband’s surname.
