NYSC Makes NERD Clearance Mandatory for Prospective Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that all prospective corps members must obtain a NERD clearance as part of the requirements for mobilization into the national service scheme.

According to the scheme, the clearance is intended to strengthen the verification process and ensure that only qualified graduates are enrolled for national service.

Prospective corps members are expected to complete the required clearance process before they can be successfully registered and deployed for the mandatory one-year service.

NYSC advised graduates and higher institutions to comply with the new directive to avoid delays or disqualification during mobilization. The scheme also urged prospective corps members to follow official guidelines and complete all necessary documentation before the commencement of the orientation exercise.

The development is part of ongoing efforts by the NYSC to improve the credibility, transparency, and integrity of its mobilization process, while preventing the use of fake or unverified academic records. Prospective corps members are encouraged to stay updated through official NYSC channels for further information and instructions.
