The police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have commenced investigation into the disappearance of a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Miss Eunice Ameh.
Family sources disclosed that Ameh, who is also a lawyer, recently secured employment as a Sales Manager at a company located in the Maitama area of Abuja.
According to the sources, she had only resumed at the company about two weeks ago before her disappearance.
The family further revealed that the corps member was expected to participate in her final Community Development Service (CDS) on Thursday ahead of her passing-out from the NYSC scheme.
Ameh was reportedly last seen around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, after leaving her workplace for Life Camp, where she resides.
Concern among family members and colleagues reportedly heightened after several attempts to reach her failed, as both of her mobile phone lines remained switched off.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said the matter was officially reported at the Maitama Police Division on May 7, 2026.
Adeh explained that the report was made by one Mr. Zachariah, who informed the police that the missing woman left the office premises on May 6 but never arrived home.
She disclosed that following the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, ordered a detailed investigation into the matter.
The police spokesperson also appealed to members of the public with useful information regarding the whereabouts of the missing corps member to report to the nearest police station.
She added that residents could also contact the FCT Police Command through the office of the Public Relations Officer for relevant information that could assist ongoing investigations.
