Ondo PDP chieftain, Ajisafe quits party, joins APC

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Fisayo Ajisafe, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that the decision was hinged on the strides of President Bola Tinubu and the crisis rocking the opposition.

Ajisafe, who served as a key grassroots mobiliser and opposition figure in Ifedore Federal Constituency, disclosed his decision on Thursday. The defection was formalised at Ajisafe’s political ward in Ikota, Ifedore Local Council Area of the state, where he was received by the immediate past state chairman of the APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, alongside other party leaders who described the development as timely and strategic for the ruling party’s ambitions in the state.

IAjisafe cited the development agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and what he described as the “lingering crisis” within the PDP that had constrained his ability to effectively serve his constituents.

“I have decided to join the moving train and continue to get involved in the Renewed Hope agenda of our President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ajisafe saidThe PDP chieftain expressed confidence that the APC would perform strongly in the 2027 elections, pointing to the growing strength of the ruling party across Ondo State as a key factor that influenced his political realignment.
