Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has donated ₦10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences, Oluyoro, Ibadan, as part of his continued support for healthcare education and the training of future medical professionals.

Obi made the donation during a visit to the institution after attending the 50th/15th Biennial Conference of the Methodist Church.

During his visit, he met with the management and students of the college, where he emphasized the importance of education in building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

He described healthcare education as one of the nation’s most critical investments, noting that well-trained nurses and healthcare professionals are essential to improving the quality of medical services and driving national development.

In fulfilment of an earlier promise to support the institution, Obi presented an additional ₦10 million to assist the college in its mission of producing competent healthcare workers.

He said the contribution reflects his commitment to investing in education and initiatives that will positively impact Nigeria’s future.

Addressing the students, Obi urged them to remain focused on their studies and strive for excellence, reminding them that nurses play a vital role in healthcare systems both in Nigeria and around the world.

He encouraged them to uphold professionalism, compassion, and integrity throughout their careers, adding that they have the potential to become worthy ambassadors of the country.

He concluded his visit by reaffirming his belief that “A New Nigeria is Possible.”
