Peter Obi Dumps Labour Party, Joins ADC

The former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Mr Obi made the announcement on Tuesday during a political rally held at the Nike Lake Resort Hotel in Enugu, signaling a major realignment in Nigeria’s opposition politics.

Obi’s Statement on the Defection “We are ending this year with the hope that in 2026 we will begin a rescue journey,” Mr Obi said, emphasizing his commitment to political reform and national service.
