Ochanya was accused of being molested since she was eight years old by Andrew Ogbuja, a lecturer at the Benue State Polytechnic in Ugbokolo, and his son Victor.

Additionally, they were charged with having anal and vaginal sex with the young girl until she gained Vesicovagina Fistula, or VVF.On November 2, 2018, the victim was laid to rest in tears at Ogene-Amejo Village in Benue State’s Okpokwu Local Government.According to recent rumors, the suspects were spotted in Lagos, which infuriated Nigerians once again.

Senator Natasha responded by posting a message on her social media page Thursday morning, stating that she had discovered the suspects had been freed.

In order for her to pursue the case further, she requested that the deceased’s family submit a petition to her office. She wrote, “7 years ago the heart wrenching story of little Ochanya devastated me.

“I thought the perpetrators were in jail. Alas, they were discharged and acquitted.

“The family of the late Ochanya Ogbanje should write a petition to me:

“Senator Natasha Akpoti -Uduaghan, Room 2:05 Senate Wing, National Assembly Complex , Abuja.

“For our children, I stand for Justice for Ochanya”.
