South African authorities have arrested 127 foreign nationals during an immigration enforcement operation targeting people living in the country without legal documentation.
According to the Department of Home Affairs, those arrested include citizens of Ghana, Zimbabwe, and several other countries.
Officials said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen border security and enforce the country’s immigration laws.
The department confirmed that the undocumented migrants will undergo legal processing before being deported to their respective countries in accordance with South African immigration regulations.
Authorities added that similar operations will continue across the country to identify and remove individuals found to be residing in South Africa illegally. The government says the initiative is aimed at improving national security, ensuring compliance with immigration laws, and protecting public services.
