Troost-Ekong reveals his ideal Super Eagles coach

Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has declared he would prefer a local coach to manage the Super Eagles.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has yet to name a substantive head coach for the Super Eagles since Jose Peseiro left the post at the end of February.

Former international, Emmanuel Amuneke as well as two expatriates, Domenec Torrent and Antonio Conceicao are said to be in the running for the job.

Asked by Nigeria football legend, Segun Odegbami on his preferred choice during a radio programme on Eagles FM on Saturday morning, Troost-Ekong said he would prefer a local tactician to take over from Peseiro.

“I think that will be the ideal situation for our team to be honest,” declared the centre-back.

“I said that because I have seen Senegal for example, what they achieve with their coach. Ivory Coast now, they changed their coach in the middle of the tournament.
