Ugandan TikTok personality Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has died following a prolonged battle with sickle cell disease and other serious blood-related complications. He was 24.

News of Jayden’s death was announced by fellow Ugandan TikToker Sheila Price, with friends and associates later confirming the reports. Details surrounding the exact circumstances and location of his death were not immediately available.

Jayden had lived with sickle cell disease for many years, but his condition became more complicated after he developed aplastic anaemia, a serious disorder in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells. His health struggles attracted widespread attention in Uganda after he appealed for financial assistance for specialised treatment.

In late 2025, Jayden was admitted to TMR International Hospital in Naalya after experiencing severe chest pain and difficulty breathing. Doctors reported complications linked to sickle cell disease and found that his bone marrow was struggling to produce sufficient blood cells. A bone marrow transplant was subsequently recommended.

Fellow content creators, friends and well-wishers rallied around him, helping raise funds for his treatment abroad. In July 2026, Jayden travelled to India and underwent a bone marrow transplant. At the time, his supporters were told that the procedure had gone successfully and that he was out of danger.

However, his condition later deteriorated. According to his friend Gideon Kwikiriza, Jayden’s health worsened several weeks before his death despite the earlier signs of recovery. He was reportedly receiving intensive medical care in India.

Jayden was known for his humorous TikTok content, particularly his observations about everyday Ugandan life and culture. His illness had brought together thousands of supporters online, who followed his treatment journey and contributed to efforts to save his life.

His death has prompted an outpouring of grief from his family, fellow content creators, friends and fans, who have continued to pay tribute to the young TikTok personality.
