The Super Eagles goalkeeper is set to face a four- years ban if found guilty.
Udinese’s goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, is under investigation by criminal prosecutors in Udine, Italy concerning anomalous betting activity related to a yellow card he received in a match against Lazio last March.
According to a report in Messaggero Veneto on Friday, the 25-year-old was booked for time-wasting during the second half of Udinese’s 2-1 victory over Lazio.
The report states that the investigation also extends to Diego Giordano, a forty-year-old entrepreneur, and owner of the Biffi pizzeria in via Poscolle.
Okoye, who is currently sidelined following wrist surgery, faces potential consequences both from law enforcement and sporting authorities.
