Some of my appointees can’t defend my govt, says Ekiti gov

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed disappointment over the conduct of some of his political appointees.

The governor stated this on Friday when he was presented with the All Progressives Congress Governorship Nomination and Expression of Interest forms by the Ekiti State University Alumni Association at the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

In a viral video seen by our correspondent on Saturday, the governor accused some of his aides of not being able to defend his administration on social media.

Speaking at a political event, the governor also accused the appointees of “eating from both sides” and failing to defend the salaries they earn.

“We need to seize the social media space. It’s not as if they’re winning the battle, but some of you, my appointees, because they’re eating from both sides, they cannot even come out and defend the government. I’m telling you. Very few of them will be on platforms where they’re attacking us, and they will keep mute.

“They won’t be able to talk, and they’re collecting salaries every month. I’m marking them one by one. I’m not going to talk now, but be assured, those of you that are on the platforms where they’re dragging us and you kept quiet, and you’re collecting money from this administration, we will come for you at the appropriate time,” he said
