FCTA Impounds 40 Vehicles Over Illegal Operations Near Mabushi Terminal

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has impounded 40 vehicles for operating illegally outside the Mabushi Bus and Taxi Terminal in Abuja as part of a crackdown on unauthorized transport activities.

Officials said the enforcement exercise targeted commercial drivers and transport operators who were picking up and dropping off passengers outside the designated terminal, causing traffic congestion, safety concerns, and disorder in the area.

According to the FCTA, the operation is part of ongoing efforts to restore order, improve traffic management, and ensure that all commercial transport operators comply with established regulations. Authorities warned that operating outside approved terminals violates transport guidelines and will not be tolerated.

The impounded vehicles are expected to remain in custody pending the completion of administrative procedures and payment of any applicable penalties. The administration also urged transport operators to use designated terminals and obey traffic regulations to avoid sanctions.

The FCTA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient transportation system across the Federal Capital Territory, adding that similar enforcement exercises will continue in other parts of Abuja.
