Hon. Murktar Umar, the representative for Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano, has announced his defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a public statement, Hon. Umar confirmed his resignation from the NNPP, saying, “I have formally resigned my membership of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) and aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“He added that his decision is rooted in a commitment to public service, democratic participation, and national development.
This marks the latest in a series of high-profile defections to the ADC, signaling growing momentum for the party ahead of upcoming elections.
Political analysts suggest that such moves may reshape party dynamics in Kano State and influence broader electoral outcomes.
