DAR ES SALAAM: THE Director of Mr UK Electronics Limited Company, Profil Massawe has requested the government to establish stronger and more effective laws to protect and empower Tanzanian entrepreneurs.

“When a local businessperson succeeds, the benefits stay within the country, unlike when foreign investors dominate the market. All these projects circulate within Tanzania so we need to make sure our own people are supported,” he said passionately.

Speaking in a press conference in Dar es Salaam today, July 12, 2025, Mr Massawe also emphasized the need for the law to clearly define which types of businesses should be reserved for local entrepreneurs and which can be open to foreign investors.

“This clarity will create fair opportunities and encourage more Tanzanians to engage in business,” he added.

In his speech, the Director further appealed to the government to support aspiring industrialists especially those interested in manufacturing products like stoves and refrigerators by offering low-interest loans with rates not exceeding 5 percent.

He stressed that access to affordable financing would spark innovation and industrial growth across the country.
