Ethiopia Starts Construction of Railway Link to AMG Industrial Park

Ethiopia has begun building a 3-kilometre railway line connecting AMG Industrial Park to Endode station, the Ethio-Djibouti Railway Corporation said.

The project, designed and executed by local engineers, is scheduled for completion within six months. It will support the transport of AMG’s products, including coffee and metals, from the park to regional and international markets.

“Construction of this line is expected to streamline the movement of goods between industrial zones and the railway network,” said Takele Uma, CEO of Ethio-Djibouti Railways.

The railway forms part of a network linking industrial parks, free-trade zones, agro-processing areas and logistics centres. Authorities said it aims to improve the movement of goods and reduce transit times.

AMG Industrial Park is among several industrial zones in Ethiopia integrated with transport infrastructure to facilitate production and export activities.
