Ex-Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe’s son arrested in South Africa for shooting gardener
Bellarmine Mugabe, Son of a former Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly shooting one of his domestic staff.
South Africa police said two two people were arrested for attempted murder on Thursday, after a shooting at Mugabe’s Hyde Park residence that left a 23-year-old gardener in “critical condition.”
Guateng police spokesperson, Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, said the shooting happened after an altercation.
“Two men, aged 28 and 33, including Mr Mugabe, were taken in for questioning, Ms Nevhuhulwi said. “The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage and investigations are under way.”
