Social media platform Facebook has partnered with Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele to promote Nigerian storytelling and showcase the country’s film industry to global audiences.

The partnership will support the London world premiere and Lagos premiere of Akindele’s latest movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, bringing together content creators, celebrities and audiences to celebrate Nigerian cinema.
Meta’s Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, Oluwasola Obagbemi, said the collaboration would highlight how Facebook enables creators to connect with fans, build communities and reach international audiences through original content.
He added that the initiative would also create opportunities for content creators to share their work and earn income from original content published on the platform.
Akindele said the partnership would help bring African stories to a wider global audience.
The collaboration will also spotlight Nigerian creators at home and in the diaspora, with behind-the-scenes content and coverage of the two premieres to be shared on Facebook.
The film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, is scheduled to be released in cinemas nationwide on December 11, 2026.
