GHANA: I shut down my restaurant because of music – Celestine Donkor

Award winning gospel musician, Celestine Donkor has revealed that she shut down her restaurant due to her passion for music.

According to her, she once had a restaurant which was booming but because of time constraints she opted to shut down the food business and focus on her music.

Celestine Donkor said that sometimes she will be travelling abroad for shows and people will be demanding food and other items so the business was going down.

“I love music and the demand is too high. I was running a restaurant but because of the time limit I had to shut it down and focus on my gospel.” She said in an interview.

“I can say I put all my energy into the music. Because you can rely on someone while your business is shambling.” She added

She believes her decision to make a bold decision to do full time music has helped her and the industry.

The gospel musician added that currently, she is including top ten Ghanaian artistes because of the impact she has made in the industry.

Celestine Donkor maintained that her 20 years journey in music has made a significant impact in Ghana’s music industry.

“I thank God for everything. 20 years in music is not easy so I am happy that I am here. And I know I have made a significant impact in the industry so I hope it would be unfair if anybody exclude me from the top ten artists in Ghana.” She noted.
