His comments come after two Sudanese players, AbdoelKarem Yagoub and Esmat Abdulhamid, who travelled to the USA for a friendly against DC United on October 12, reportedly absconded from the team’s hotel.
The players had earlier sought permission to go and change money, but their request was declined.
However, CCTV footage revealed the players had sneaked out of the team’s hotel with no news on their whereabouts.
Reflecting on the unfortunate situation, Appiah, who also serves as the Head of Sporting Affairs as Asante Kotoko says he will not bring any Sudanese player to the country.
He, however, revealed that Sudan captain, Ramadan Agab has expressed his wish to play for the Porcupine Warriors one day.
“The truth is that because of the two players who ran away from Asante Kotoko camp, I am not willing to bring any players to Ghana, but the Sudan captain says he would want to play for Asante Kotoko one day but at the moment, I am not interested in bringing ant Sudanese player to Ghana,” he told Asempa FM.
AbdoelKarem Yagoub and Esmat Abdulhamid were part of the 12 players signed by the Porcupines after parting company with over 21 last summer.
