Netanyahu Warns Iran Amid Rising US–Tehran Tension

Concerns over regional stability emerged on Monday as Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel is passing through what he described as complex and challenging days amid escalating strain between Washington and Tehran.

Addressing lawmakers in parliament, the Israeli leader said his government was closely observing unfolding developments and remained prepared for any possible scenario as diplomatic pressure intensifies on Iran.

The rising tension follows renewed warnings from Donald Trump, who reportedly threatened military action if Tehran declines a proposed nuclear agreement with the United States.

Speaking to legislators, Netanyahu cautioned Iran’s leadership against any direct aggression, warning that an attack on Israel would be met with overwhelming force.

He stressed that Israel had made its position clear to the Iranian authorities, adding that any hostile move would attract a response beyond expectation.

On bilateral ties, Netanyahu said cooperation between Israel and the United States has reached an unprecedented level, particularly in defence and intelligence coordination.

He noted that collaboration between the Israel Defense Forces and the U.S. military, as well as their respective security agencies, has deepened significantly in recent months.

The renewed friction traces back to last June when Israel and Iran were involved in their first direct confrontation during a 12-day conflict. During that period, Israeli forces reportedly targeted Iranian nuclear facilities and ballistic missile infrastructure.

Iran, in response, launched drones and missiles towards Israeli territory. The United States later joined operations, striking underground nuclear sites in Iran as tensions escalated.

The latest remarks underscore heightened alert across the Middle East, with Israel reaffirming its alliance with Washington while warning Tehran against actions that could further destabilise the region
