NFF technical committee meets over new Super Eagles coach

The NFF technical committee today met in Abuja to begin deliberations over the appointment of a new foreign coach for the Super Eagles.

SCORENigeria learnt that the committee followed up on the work done in this respect by NFF president Ibrahim Gusau and sports minister John Enoh recently in London.

Frenchman Herve Renard has already been contacted for the top post as well as several other foreign coaches.

SCORENigeria today also reported that former England coach Steve McClaren, who is now an assistant coach at Premier League giants Manchester United, has also thrown his hat in the ring.

It is understood that the committee studied a list of prospective coaches and thereafter send a shortlist with its recommendations to the NFF executive committee for their consideration.

The NFF have announced they will appoint a new foreign coach for the Super Eagles before the 2025 AFCON qualifiers get underway in early September.

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group D alongside Libya and 2026 World Cup qualifying rivals Benin and Rwanda.
