Nigerian Students Build APPS After Coding, AI Training By Odu’a Foundation

The Odu’a Investment Foundation has trained more than 4,500 students across Southwest Nigeria in coding, artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital skills through its Byte Busters Coding Club.

The initiative is part of efforts to equip young people with relevant technological skills and prepare them for opportunities in the rapidly growing digital economy.

The Project Director of the Digital Education for Innovation and Economic Development (DEFINED) Project, Professor Seun Kolade, disclosed this at the second edition of the Byte Busters Showcase 2026, held at the University of Ibadan International Conference Centre in Ibadan.

Professor Kolade said the programme was designed to expose students to emerging technologies while helping them develop practical skills that can support innovation, entrepreneurship and future employment.

The Byte Busters Coding Club provides young learners with training in areas including coding, artificial intelligence and other digital competencies, helping them build a foundation for participation in the technology-driven economy.

The showcase provided an opportunity for participants to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they had acquired through the programme.

The initiative also highlights the importance of strengthening digital education among young people in the Southwest, particularly as technology continues to transform education, business and employment.

Through the continued expansion of the Byte Busters Coding Club, the Odu’a Investment Foundation aims to contribute to the development of a digitally skilled generation capable of creating solutions and taking advantage of emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s digital economy.
