Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky set to buy English club after not guilty verdict
The proposed takeover of Tranmere Rovers is on track to be finalized after A$AP Rocky was cleared of two felony assault charges.
The rapper had faced two charges connected to the use of a semi-automatic weapon during a 2021 altercation with another hip-hop artist in Hollywood.
Rocky, who shares two sons with singer Rihanna, was acquitted on Tuesday.
Sky Sports has now reported that Rocky, whose full name is Rakin Athelston Mayers, will be part of a consortium set to acquire Tranmere from Mark Palios.
The deal, which has been in progress for nearly a year, is focused on purchasing over 80 percent of the League Two club, valued at £15 million.
As part of the deal, Indonesian investors, Santini Group, will retain their minority stake and continue their involvement at Prenton Park.
