The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage affecting parts of Abuja due to planned maintenance work at one of its transmission substations.

According to the announcement, the temporary shutdown is necessary to allow engineers to carry out essential maintenance and upgrade works aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of electricity supply within the affected areas.

TCN explained that the outage is part of routine technical operations designed to strengthen the national grid and reduce the risk of unexpected system failures.

The company noted that while the maintenance work is ongoing, electricity supply may be disrupted in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory and surrounding locations.

The transmission company appealed to residents and businesses in the affected areas to bear with the inconvenience, assuring that power supply would be restored immediately after the maintenance exercise is completed.

It further reaffirmed its commitment to improving grid stability and ensuring better electricity delivery across the country.
